It all started with one man, one phone, and one computer.
Having been born and raised in a country that is one of the largest manufacturers of textiles in the world, this man who is now a co-founder of Linen Plus realized that there was a problem with the way the Canadian linen industry works.
“Why is it so complicated?”
He noticed that there are too many hands in the pot when it comes to bed and bath products and Canadian hotel supply. First there’s the manufacturer, then there’s the buying house, then there’s the distributor, and then, finally, we arrive at the end user.
Middlemen mean higher prices for the end buyer.
He also noticed another problem with the Canadian guest supply industry:
All the linen suppliers in Canada seem to only care about the biggest buyers…
Which happens to only be the top 5% of hospitality businesses in Canada.
What about the other 95%?
No one seemed to care about the small and medium sized businesses – the salons and spas, the bed and breakfasts, the motels and small hotel chains, the fitness clubs, the yoga studios, the healthcare institutions, and even restaurants. The industry was lacking the infrastructure needed to serve these businesses adequately…
