FAQ:
What Is The Difference In 10S And 16S Towels?
The “S” for Singles refers to the thread weight that is used. The higher the thread weight number, the finer and softer feel of the fabric. When a higher thread weight number is used, the thread is finer and a tighter weave can be achieved. This gives the product using a higher thread weight number a softer, finer feel.
Therefore, a 16S towel would be softer than a 10S towel.
10S towels feel more “coarse” than 16S towels and are usually found ineconomy towels. Other factors come into play, like the weight of the woven product, as well as the size.
Typically, a higher singles count is a bit more in cost, as well.
Another factor in the “hand” (feel) of fabrics is OE (open end) vs Ring Spun.
OE is the standard baseline method of spinning yarn. Ring spun is an additional process, that makes products much softer with finer yarn.
Care Instruction:
Wash and dry your towels before using them for the first time. Washing the towels first will remove anymanufacturing finishes and allows maximum absorbency.
Avoid using fabric softeners on toweling, as it will reduce the absorbency of the fibers.
Give your towels a shake when taking them out of the washer. This will help fluff the terry loops that aidabsorbency.
-
Don't iron towels; this will reduce absorbency.
-
Line or warm tumble dry
-
Use warm or cold water for washing colored towels.
-
Dark and medium colors should be washed separately.
-
Use regular or commercial washing detergents and use bleach and OBA on white towels only. Don't use bleach on color towels Unless they are VAT dyed.
-
Avoid hot water washes as this could fade the magnificent colors in your towels over time.
DRYING
While tumble- drying will make the towel fluffy, do not overdo the drying, as the heat from the dryercan damage the integrity of the cotton fibers. We recommend using a lower heat setting occasionally oralternate between air and heat drying.
ABSORBENCY
To maximize the absorbency of a towel, add a cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle, about every sixweeks, to restore the towel to full absorbency. The vinegar removes any excess detergent, which canaffect the towels’ absorbency.
PULLED THREADS
As all our towels are woven, a pulled loop will not unravel the towel. If you catch the towel and pull aloop, cut off the pulled loop with a pair of scissors.
