- Completely redesigned chassis made from aerospace aluminum houses a high quality displacement gauge
- Minimum sample thickness is 0.025"" (6.35 mm) for most materials
- Shipped with factory-set preload, calibrated and ready to use
- Chromoly steel indenter has been polished to a spherical radius of 0.012"" and ground to an included angle of 30°
- Upper end (the shank) is the gripping area for insertion into a milling machine, drill press, or lathe
- Lower end is the load cell that extends up into the body of the hardness tester and houses a centreless ground precision spring which preloads the hardened steel indenter
- Direct reading analog dial is accurate to ±1.5 points
- The total force required to move the indenter through its full travel of 0.025"" (6.35 mm) is 85 lbs. (38.56 kg)
