Care Instructions:
Sheets made by Snuggles contain polyester and cotton fibers. Laundry care instructions may vary depending on the equipment used by different laundries, but should follow the guidelines below.
Wash water temperatures will cause very little shrinkage or color variation up to temperatures of 160°F.
We added optical brighteners during the cotton and polyester finishing process. It's okay to wash normally with alkaline conditions (pH 9-10). Adding a cotton optic during washing can help keep the white color after multiple washes. Chlorine, peroxide, or sodium perborate bleach can be used in moderate amounts. In all cases, the pH of the fabric should be brought back to a pH range of 5.0 to 7.0 before drying.
The use of an optical brightener is not recommended on tinted shades due to the apparent color change caused by this addition.
Drying can be done in the dryer or on a mangle. Fabric shrinkage has been stabilized during manufacturing through the use of a resin finish for the cotton and heat stabilization for the polyester. Goods are heat set to a minimum of 325 F at our finishing plant in Easley SC.
Caution:
If the fabric reaches this temperature while drying, excessive shrinkage may occur. Many operations exceed these temperatures by trying to heat up more in order to run faster. This will cause shrinkage and color issues.
If drying in a dryer, always use the cool down cycle before stopping the machine to avoid wrinkles.
NOTE: Tumble dryer temperature should never exceed 300 degrees F. For customers who insist on running mangles above 300 degrees, great success has been had running the new sheet or pillowcase (unwashed) through the mangle at whatever temperature it will be. dry once before using. This stabilizes the fabric at a higher temperature and when wet in the mangle in the future shrinkage is greatly reduced.
