Pulled Stem - Each stem is obtained from a single piece of glass, thanks to a special traction process. This special process guarantees the absence of microfractures – which means a more durable product - elegant and slender shapes, resistance and flexibility for an easy-to-use product. Star Glass is an exclusive chemical composition that delivers an ultra-clear and ultra-pure glass completely recyclable because it is lead-free. The very limited presence of impurities and colour shades makes Star Glass comparable to crystal in terms of clarity, although it is lighter and more practical. During the tempering process, the glass is subjected to thermal shock: the product is rapidly cooled from a temperature of about 600°. This rapid change in temperature compresses the surface molecules so that the glass acquires much greater resistance to thermal and mechanical shock. Bormioli Rocco tempered glass is 2.5 times more resistant than ordinary annealed glass and guarantees a very high level of reliability. Xlasting treatment – an innovation created to protect and strengthen the wine glass stem to enhance the resistance to the most frequent forms of breakage in the hospitality industry including washing, twisting and polishing.
